What's Included If You Just get CDs Made:
- Normalize each track to make each cut the hottest they can be.
- Putting it on CD with a nice label on the CD.
What the Mastering Service Includes:
- Detailed EQ for each song to bring out the best for each cut.
- Process each track with compression (makes the whole disc sound louder
and tighter. Many Pop/Rock CDs do this).
- Balance each track so there is an overall balance in volume.

Hint of Light highly recommends the mastering service. It's not all that
much money, and the quality difference will be great. If what you
send in is on cassette, or has some audio flaws (tape hiss, not-the-best
EQ, it sounds quiet compared to commercial CDs, ...), the mastering service
will be worth every penny!
You WILL hear a difference if you decide to go with the mastering service,
but it's totally up to you. Just putting your music on CD will make it sound
great.
When You Send Your Music In:
When you send in your music, here are some things Hint of Light needs
to make your CD great:
- Track order (titles spelled just the way you want them on the label)
- If you want customized spacing between songs (a 2 second default, or
anything from 0 to 10 seconds (even a hidden track if you want)
- If you have a .gif or .jpeg picture that you want on your label, you
can email it to Hint of Light. If not, specify
what title you want on the CD label. Also, you can proof the label by going
to a private link on the Hint of Light home page so you know exactly how
it will look.
